Saturdays
9:30 AM Amazing Animals Video
These videos featuring an animated lizard are
appropriate for young children and last about 25 minutes. Shown
at the Nature Center.
11:00 AM Wildcrafts for Kids
Stop by the Nature Center to make a take home
nature craft. Appropriate for children 4 and up.
12:30 PM EYEWITNESS Video
These nature videos are appropriate for older
children and adults. Each last about 35 minutes.
1:30 PM Live Animal Presentation
Join a Ranger for a presentation about local and
exotic wildlife using live animal examples.
3:00 PM Wildlife Theatre
Come challenge your friends to a Karaoke
competition and try to become the next "Tickfaw Idol". All ages
welcome.
Sundays
11:00 AM Backyard Habitats for Wildlife
Stop by the Nature Center to learn how to give
wildlife a helping hand right in your own backyard.
All programs are free of charge and subject to
change. Because of limited space, programs are on a first come,
first serve basis. Call the park for more information at
225-294-2218
Eco-Education
Check other posted schedules for guided hikes on
the elevated boardwalks over the swamps and lowlands. You may
prefer the more relaxed approach offered during a nature program
presentation at one of the three education pavilions and outdoor
amphitheater at the Nature Center. The nighttime program you can
go hiking and listen to the swamp nightlife and wonder just what
is creaping in the swamps. You can also enjoy the night sounds
from your screened in porch back at your cabin.
